About the team
H1's Health Plans team is building the data infrastructure and product intelligence that connects payers with the provider and clinical data that powers their most critical decisions — network management, utilization review, quality measurement, and member navigation. This Product Manager role sits at the intersection of payer operations, provider data, and H1's core HCP intelligence platform, reporting directly to the Head of Health Plans Product.
What you'll do at H1
As Product Manager, Health Plans, you will own the roadmap and execution for H1's health plans product surface — working closely with payer clients, data science, engineering, and commercial teams to define what we build and ensure it delivers measurable value for health plan stakeholders.
Own the product roadmap for H1's health plans product suite — prioritizing features that improve network management, provider directory accuracy, utilization analytics, and quality measurement for payer clients
Conduct ongoing discovery with health plan stakeholders — network managers, provider data management teams, and credentialing leads — to surface unmet needs and translate them into actionable product requirements
Partner with data science and engineering to improve provider data completeness, accuracy, and freshness in ways that are directly useful to payer workflows
Define success metrics and own reporting on adoption, data quality, and client satisfaction across the health plans product surface
Collaborate with commercial and customer success teams to ensure product investments support retention and expansion with health plan clients
Translate complex payer regulatory requirements — network adequacy, provider directory, credentialing — into clear, prioritized product decisions that engineering and design can execute
Track and communicate progress against roadmap and client commitments, flagging risks early and coordinating resolution across product, engineering, and commercial teams
Partner with solutions engineering and data delivery to document client-specific implementation needs and ensure they are reflected in the product roadmap
Run ad hoc analyses and validate data against payer-facing requirements using available tooling
Identify and address operational inefficiencies in the product development and delivery process, improving repeatability as the health plans client base grows
About you
You understand how health plans actually operate — their workflows, their data needs, and what a useful provider directory or network analytics tool looks like in practice. You've built or materially improved data products in a payer or health plan context and know how to make tradeoffs between coverage, freshness, and regulatory accuracy. You lead with curiosity and bring structured thinking to ambiguous problems.
Familiar with health plan workflows: network management, provider credentialing, network adequacy, utilization review or prior authorization operations
Experienced in B2B SaaS product management, with a track record on data-intensive or analytics platforms — not primarily UI and feature work
Comfortable with data quality and coverage tradeoffs in a product context — and able to make those tradeoffs visible and defensible to engineering, data science, and client stakeholders
Strong in user research: able to run qualitative discovery with health plan users and distill clear product signal from messy stakeholder input
Effective cross-functional collaborator — works fluidly with data science, engineering, commercial, and customer success
Data-driven and precise: uses metrics to validate assumptions and define what good looks like for a product area
Requirements
3+ years of B2B product management, preferably on data, analytics, or intelligence platforms in healthcare or life sciences
Familiarity with health plan operations — network management, provider data, utilization management, or prior authorization — through product, consulting, or industry experience
Comfortable working with data science and engineering on data quality, coverage, and accuracy problems — and translating those decisions into user-facing product choices
Proven ability to run user research, synthesize findings, and convert them into actionable product requirements
Comfortable using data to validate product decisions; SQL or Python experience a plus
Based in New York, NY (preferred), OR based in Boston, Philadelphia, or Washington D.C. (hybrid with willingness to travel to New York).
Compensation
This role pays $105,000 to $135,000 per year, based on experience, in addition to equity (2,800–3,500 RSUs).
