We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our growing infrastructure organization. This is a high-impact opportunity to help build and scale the CI/CD platform capabilities that power engineering across Realtor.com. You will be a senior technical contributor responsible for strengthening the shared delivery infrastructure engineers rely on to build, test, deploy, and operate applications quickly, reliably, and securely.
This role sits on the CI/CD platform team and is focused on building and supporting the automated solutions engineers will use for their delivery workflows. You will take ownership of critical DevOps initiatives across CI/CD, GitOps, Kubernetes, and service-mesh-enabled platform architecture, with a direct mandate to improve the developer experience and raise the maturity of our shared engineering systems.
We believe in leveraging the best tools to solve problems faster. You will be expected to utilize AI coding assistants and LLMs proficiently to accelerate development velocity, generate boilerplate, and troubleshoot complex debugging scenarios. This role requires the critical judgment to verify AI-generated outputs for security, performance, and accuracy, allowing you to focus on high-impact architectural challenges.
What you’ll do:
CI/CD Platform Ownership
Architect and manage robust CircleCI pipelines, runner clusters, and self-service automation tools that streamline secure application delivery.
Build and support shared CI/CD capabilities that help engineers deliver software accurately, reliably, and with speed.
Partner with engineering squads to provide the tooling, automated pipelines, and platform support they need to succeed.
Mentor teams on DevOps best practices and help improve engineering maturity across the organization.
GitOps, Kubernetes, and Platform Engineering
Deploy and support GitOps workflows across multiple clusters using ArgoCD to automate application lifecycle management in diverse environments.
Design and manage production-ready AWS EKS infrastructure within resilient multi-region and multi-cluster architectures.
Manage container scheduling and cluster scaling using Karpenter while maintaining the health, availability, and security of EKS environments.
Enforce strong Kubernetes security practices using Network Policies and IAM Roles for Service Accounts (IRSA).
Service Mesh, Reliability, and Operational Excellence
Architect and oversee Istio Service Mesh implementations to manage traffic, implement mTLS, and secure communication between microservices.
Develop advanced routing, ingress and egress gateway patterns, and traffic strategies such as circuit breaking and canary releases.
Diagnose and resolve sophisticated challenges in service mesh data planes, multi-cluster deployments, and distributed systems operations.
Integrate security, resilience, performance, and cost-efficiency as core pillars in every engineering initiative.
What you’ll bring:
Experience & Expertise
6+ years of cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, platform engineering, or DevOps experience.
3+ years of hands-on AWS experience, especially with EKS, EC2, VPC, Route53, S3, and IAM.
2+ years of experience administering production-grade Amazon EKS and containerized workloads.
1+ years of production experience designing and managing Istio Service Mesh in distributed or multi-cluster environments.
